Some of these band members first started playing together in the fall of nineteen seventy five. And as the
years rolled by, groups would form and reform working under such band titles as TRAGEDY, PRIZM, and OASIS. Performing
mostly copies. But as the songwriting improved, original songs were added to the repertoire. And by the fall of
nineteen seventy nine with a full list of showcase original material ready to go, new and old band members formed a new group
and called it WAVZ. Rehearsing, recording and giging in the New York City area.
Most of these songs were rehearsed at R.S and M&R studios in New York City. But by the fall of Nineteen
Seventynine the rehearsals moved to another New York City studio called UNIQUE SOUND STUDIOS. Which was also a recording
studio. This meant that the band would be able to record all of their songs live direct to cassette tape. With a some times pre
stereo mix, and sometimes a engineered recording..... Their was no multi tracking , or over dubbing what so
ever . {Come in , plug in , Get a good mix , and go for it } . This band was polished and tight . So it was not
too hard to do ..... From September to November, altogether there were five sessions booked. With numerous
versions of Thirteen songs be recorded..... Some were added to demo tapes to be passed around to clubs to book gigs . And
others were used as rehearsal progess takes.

A PERSONAL ALBUM REVIEW -- The
collection of songs on this lp were written between the years of 1975 through 1979 . During this space of time , their were
numerious changes made to the arrangements of these songs . Mainly Just to stay in tune to what was happening .
The band had a unique over all sound to it . With a instrumental line up of electric lead and rhythm guitar , electric bass
, 12 string acoustic guitar , drums , and many percussion effects . Plus all of the members had the capability to sing
either lead or backup vocal when needed . {Something which is very rare today} ......Well on to the songs ! The
album opens up with a driving commercial rocker called JUST FOR YOU {by Caravello & sycora} . This song
is one of the oldest songs that will be on this site . It kind of got the ball rolling for me as a songwriter so so long ago
. This song also features a lead guitar solo right out of the early Carlos Santana style ..... The
second track is a song called NEWSCASTERS {by Rizzo} A Elvis Costello type rocker . it also features a very nice
guitar solo . Next up is a lite hearted type rocker sung in duet by Eddie and i called ALRIGHT {by Caravello}
. Some of my lead vocal on this one has a little bit of a Otis Redding flavor to it . { I did not realize until i had done
it } . Sometimes influences kind of creep up on you . I am glad this one did ..... This lp also offers a few songs
with catchy hooks in them . One a hard edged tune called LUCKY FACE {by caravello & velasquez} I got the title for this
song from a Beatles bootleg lp back in the early 70's . John Lennon says to a audience at a 1963 london concert
[ You've got a lucky face ] . I always thought what a cool thing to say to someone . The music comes from a Mountain/Grand
funk music influence .... Second , a rock n roll tune simpley called ROCK IT I CAN
ROLL IT also {by caravello & velasquez} . This tune is not your typical 3 chord RnR pergression .
We do filter in other chords , in the verses and music breaks . To give this song it's own identity . Third ,
a song influenced by the Stones or even Tom petty . Called LIFE LONG MODEL {by Sycora} . This tune was arranged
with a melotic approach that features nice catchy side melodys . And i am sure that their are a lot of people out
there that will relate to the lyrics in this song .... Fourth is a song right out of the Fleetwood Mac
rock style . It is called IF SO LET IT BE {by Caravello & sycora} . The song was written and arranged
in two parts . the first being a slow moving tempo , but then soon after a broken drum fill , the song
just takes off into this high energy rocker . [ In the 80's it was used as a strong encore tune ] . Their is also
a liter side to this lp too . With 3 songs to mention . first a popish blues number called I NEED A WOMAN {by caravello
, velasquez , & sycora} .This one just kind of fell on to the paper , while Ed , phil , and myself were just hanging
out at my house one night .... Second , a soft moving tune , sung in 3 part harmony on the
chorus part , along with a beautifully sung lead vocal by phil . It is called WON'T BE SAD {by Velasquez} .I would say
a little bit of a Beatle flavor here . Third , A very romantic love song that just makes you want to close your
eyes and float right through it . It is called YOUR LOVE {by Caravello} . One of the best balleds i ever wrote . I just love
the chorus melody very much . Their are two extended songs on this lp too . One being a Eric Clapton or even a
Allman brothers type Influence . It is structured in the same form as Clapton's Lalya . with lead guitar lines sprinkled
all the way through . It is called I JUST LOVE THAT DREAM # 1 {by Caravello & Velasquez} . The first part plays
at a medium tempo , but by the second half slows down to this very beautiful and sweet mood . As the instruments do all
the talking .... The second song is the title track of this lp . It is called STRIPPER also {by Caravello &
Velasquez} . With a title such as Stripper you would never think it , but it is a off beat highlight to a fantasy love story
. About a unsuccessful musician who goes to this strip joint , and meets up with this over the hill stripper named Seatrain
. They end up having failure as a common thing in their lives , fall in love , and live happily ever after ....It is
a progressive rock tune that blends lite and country into it too ..... To record all of these songs it took a combined
18 hours of studio time . At the cost of about $350.00 . [Hey no big budget here] . But i must say the results are not
bad at all for some young guys in their early 20's just trying to make music . If you are a fan of what they now
call classic rock , then you may really enjoy this lp . Because these songs were influenced and written with respect
to those classic rock artist . This lp as all of the others that are released on this site will feature bonus tracks too .
Their are Three demo tracks for this lp . The first one is a song called THE MAGIC'S BACK { Caravello
} A raw acoustic version of this tune recorded right in my living room right after it was written . It will for sure
be redone in the future . And the Second tune called WAITING FOR THE DAY { Velasquez } Written and
recorded back in the fall of 1975 . At one time this one did have a band arrangement put to it . And
i must say went over very well on stage . The Third tune Is a special one to all of us . It is called DREAMIN A
SECOND { Sycora } . Written during the time of these sessions . We did do a band arrangement to it ,
but with regret never had it recorded . Eddie and the rest of us felt that it was one of the best songs he had ever
written . So still with that feeling being felt , this tune will be rerecorded in the future ..... Eddie is no
longer with us . But it is something that he always had wanted . So it will be done and released from this site
..... Please enjoy and buy this special lp . And thank you so much for the read ,
sincerely with luv , Vinny !
