In the spring of nineteen eighty. The first Wavz band split up. A few months later the three surviving
members Vinny, Phil, and later member Eve Shally decided to put together a new Wavz band. Putting out ads in local trade
papers to recruit new musicians. The lineup was finally set by December of that year by adding guitarist Marty Botner
and drummer Michael A. Aponte. This five piece band started rehearsals at R.S studios in New York
City. Building a repertoire of twenty three songs in a five month period. And also playing numerous showcase gigs in the New
York City area.
The songs on this album were recorded in two sessions. The first being on December 27th 1980, and the second on
April 21st 1981. Both done at Ultra Sound Studios in New York City. Recorded live direct to cassette tape with a pre stereo
mix. The band did numerous takes on each of the songs. Choosing the best ones to pass around to clubs to book gigs.

A PERSONAL ALBUM REVIEW When this second Wavz band started rehearsals , it had at least 20 original tried and true songs to choose
from . Mostly songs left over from the first Wavz band's repertoire . So picking about half from that list , and putting new
arrangements to them , plus adding new tunes just written . You could say that our work was cut out for us . So by the beginning of
1981 this band was ready to roll . It had been a year since the Stripper sessions . In that space of time , the main stream
music seen had added a new sound to it . It was called New Wave music . { Which was a mix of Rock , Punk , Reggae
, & pop .} Phil , Eve , and myself quickly caught on to that style and started to write and arrange songs with
that flavor in mind . Yet still holding on to the rock roots we had grown up with . {It worked out as a good mix} . Unlike
the first Wavz lineup , this one had two lead and rhythm guitarist , plus a female electric pianist and vocalist
. This allowed us to add more punch and color to our over all sound . {In my opinion the only element missing was a percussionist
, Oh well .}.... On to the album !! It opens up with a updated version of that hard edged rocker called LUCKY
FACE {by caravello & velasquez} . Man i loved singing that song . The second track is a New Wave type
song called MORE THAN JUST TALK { by Shally} . It has a tight fuzz bass and chorus effect
electric guitar sound to it . with a drum performance that is on the money ..... Also other songs complimenting
that period are , number one , a Police//Who influenced song called SUPPOSE { by Caravello} . Featuring
muffed guitar chord changes , high end melotic bass lines , working up to plenty of accents and melody lines through the rest
of the song . Number two , A funky rocker called SUCKER'S INSANE {by caravello} This one is also loaded with chord and
note accents . Written in March 1981 . Feeling the pain and anger of the murder of John Lennon . I felt as most of the world
felt . So i had to say something . So this song is about my feelings towards Lennon's killer . Number
Three a song that has a little bit of a Beatles flavor to it . It is called LOSING YOU {by caravello} . Again using
accent down stroke chord changes to an up tempo type beat . Featuring 2 part harmoney lead guitar melody
lines .... We also touched the style of R & B with a song that was originally a rock tune ,
but we put a rearrangement to it . It is called SILVER LADY # 2 {by caravello} I love picking out and slapping the bass
lines on this one . Also it has a beautiful and soulful lead vocal performance by phil . Though most of the lp rocks
out . It also has a mello side to it too . Starting with a song called THERE COMES A TIME {by Shally} . This is a piano
bassed tune with the rest of the band neatly playing along with Eve . She adds a sweet vocal style to this tune . We
also do an updated version of phil's song called WON'T BE SAD {by Velasquez] . This one with more guitar work put to
it . And the 3 part harmonys handled by Eve , Phil , and myself .... Their are two rocking tunes that are bassed
on melody line bass hooks . One of them being dare i say a touch of disco ? It is called LIVE WIRE {by caravello}
. Don't worry we really rock it up at a ass kicking pace . It was dedicated to all of those diehard female
club goers who just lived to dance . I love the chorus on this song , with its very powerful chord accents that worked
well with a light show . The other tune is a very commerical rock tune , that will work out well in any time period . It is
called NOBODY BUT YOU {by Caravello} It was mainly written for Eve to sing so she would come out from behind
the piano and front the band singing this song . It always went over very well live ..... We also did those 70's type progressive
rock songs . One being a song called PICTURES {by caravello & Velasquez} It has A bit of Yes and Argent in it ....
Next we touched on a little bit of boogie with a song called PHIL'S BOOGIE # 2 {by Velasquez} It was fun to play this one
while laughing .... And last but not least a few words about the title cut called I JUST LOVE THAT DREAM # 2 {by
Caravello & Velasquez} It is the second version of this song [ the first being on the Stripper lp which is a 70's
type version] . But this 8 minute plus version is more like a jazzy 80's type version . It has a full
group participation approach to it . That features each musician playing a little bit of a solo
. We put alot of work into this one . And the recording proves it . [ it is one of my fav's ] . It was so much
fun to play live . An audience fav too .... NOW ! As all of the albums that we will be putting out . This one also
features Two Bonus Tracks . The First one is a song that is incomplete . But it is important to add it anyway . It was
written and recorded in my living room at 1pm on Sunday Dec 14th 1980 . Just Six days after John Lennon was killed
. Yoko Ono requested a moment of silence at 12 noon that day . And all over the world we all paid tribute
to John , for that one moment . Then his song Imagine was played . I remember very well all of the members of this Wavz
Band sitting there in my apt. bowing our heads . A few minutes later to help to try and cheer us up , i got an idea
for a song . and this bonus track is that song . It is called BECAUSE OF YOU by { Wavz } . It was just a
thing to do to make us get through that sad day . Then a little while later we left and went to one of our rehearsal sessions
.... The second song is an example of Phil's and my sense of humor . It is just a fool around song called
WALLS . once again written and recorded in my living room .... The collection of studio songs on this
lp were recorded with 8 hours of studio time booked . .That is all . At the cost of at least $200.00 .
Only because we would rehearse our asses off as much as we can . we were a very tight band . One of the best bands i was ever
in . Thank you so much for the read sincerely with luv Vinny !
